Lupus Films, creator of new animated series Toot the Tiny Tugboat, has worked with Colourful to develop a brand platform and visual identity for the series airing on Channel 5’s ‘Milkshake!’ from this week (Monday 20 October).

Aimed at three to six-year-olds, Colourful helped Lupus Films think about the market and how Toot could compete as a brand with its own distinct ethos as it progresses into merchandise and licensed opportunities.

For the project brand consultant Emily Penny formed a team with designers Katie Steel (Supafrank) and Chloe Robertson (Poppi Design), of the branding Penny said: “While there is clearly an opportunity to build on the proven vehicle category, Toot's playful personality and nautical theme will make it stand out and appeal to both kids and parents alike.”

The branding will now be used during the series titles and on marketing materials and packaging. Ruth Fielding, the producer for Lupus Film, added: “We can’t wait to set sail with the series.”

Toot the Tiny Tugboat is a Toot Enterprises Production for Channel 5 and S4C, in association with Lupus Films, Cloth Cat Animation and Boom Kids.
