Rubicon’s Luke Fenney has been promoted to VP seller cloud following five years at the company, while Morwenna Beales has been named VP strategic accounts, marking a move from head of account management, and will work with clients such as eBay and News Corp.

Nina Harvey has taken the UK director, seller cloud role, moving from her current head of mobile position; and Craig Mytton has been named VP buyer cloud.

Speaking to The Drum, SVP Europe Oliver Whitten said the shake-up came on the back of the overall market’s success in recent years, and predicted market growth in the time ahead will likely extend into other areas such as TV and digital out of home, and more buying format options will become available.

“We’ve seen both in our business and in the automation market as a whole a huge amount of growth in the past five years or so, but particularly in the past two years around the wider advertising automation opportunity, and when I say wider I mean beyond RTB alone but into private marketplaces, into automated guarantees and into new media across mobile and video,” he said.

“We’re really seeing a big explosion in the market in terms of investment from buyers but also commitment from sellers and publishers.

“There’s a lot of talk now about digital audio, digital out of home, and digital TV, a lot of areas that perhaps haven’t seen automation quite yet. There’s a much bigger opportunity out there in some of these media.”

The staffing structure changes follow the appointment of regional heads including James Brown as UK and Ireland MD and Patrizio Zanatta as Latin America MD.

Whitten added: “These promotions of Luke, Morwenna, Nina and Craig recognise their skills and their commitment to our overall international growth.

“Each will work with their US counterparts to align global operations, especially with regards to product development, planning and resourcing, training and best practices, and ensure we continue to deliver the best products and service to our international customers.”

The Rubicon Project also took a significant step earlier this year with the launch of an IPO.
