Protein nutrition brand Decibel has appointed Total Media to handle its media planning and buying as it launches in the UK.

Total Media has been charged with working alongside lead creative and strategic agency Mint to launch the Decibel brand to the wider health and fitness market, while generating sales of its products.

Adam Johnson, director at Decibel, said of the appointment: “We’re delighted to be working with Total Media as part of the cross-agency team to take our range of sports nutrition products to the UK market. With Total Media’s heritage in working with other big name sports nutrition brands, and their extensive experience in launching new brands in the UK, we felt they were the perfect media partner to work with.”

Total Media has begun work straightaway on an online and offline campaign with a £100,000 media spend.

A mix of press, online display, mobile targeting and PPC have been used for the campaign, as well as a collaboration with titles such as Men’s Health and Men’s Fitness, to further target Decibel’s core intended audience.

Further account activity is scheduled for 2015, with an agreed media spend of £500,000.
