Yahoo is believed to be seeking a new ad agency to handle a large consumer brand campaign, as the company looks to expand its usership.

Having reached out to agencies, it is believed that Yahoo will listen to pitches later this month.

According to AdAge all media, including TV, is being considered for the new push, something which Yahoo has not commented on.

Speaking at Adverting Week New York last week, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer (pictured) said that video was where the "best advertising will happen in the future" – which could mark online on VOD as one place where the new campaign will be promoted.

Omnicom's Goodby Silverstein & Partners used to hold the Yahoo ad account between 2009 and 2011, and it is unclear if this is one of the agencies which will take part in the new pitch.

In 2013, Yahoo spent $5m (£3.13m) on network TV.
