Cinime, the app developed by Digital Cinema Media (DCM) and Yummi, designed to let brands entertain and engage people before and after the movies, is set to develop its content following a tie-up between DCM and MyMovies.

Cinime movie app set to further enhance viewer experience as DCM and MyMovies ink partnership deal

The deal will see users of the app able to access the latest film content wherever they are, rather than just in the cinema.

Phase one will see the latest official trailers for all UK cinema releases delivered straight to the end user's handset using MyMovies' streaming services, with exclusive red carpet and junket interview content to be rolled out later in the year.

Simon Rees, chief executive of Digital Cinema Media said of the deal: “This builds on our ambition to connect with the audience both before and after the film experience.”

The announcement comes as the app reaches the milestone of 500,000 downloads in the UK.

Additionally from 26 September to 23 October cinema goers who download the cinime app will be able to exclusively play Xbox’s Forza Horizon 2 game in cinemas across the country, with the chance of winning an Xbox and copies of the game.

The four-week campaign starts a week before the release of the latest instalment of the Forza series. The campaign will run across 1,500 screens nationwide at Odeon, Cineworld and Vue cinemas.
