A Twitter timeline that was considered so offensive it earned its author a 16-month prison sentence is still visible on the micro-blogging site.

Jailed: Abdul Hafez

As The Drum reported yesterday 35 year old Abdul Hafes was jailed at Glasgow Sherriff court for his posts which included calls for Kurds and Shia Muslims to be killed and praise for Middle Eastern terrorist group ISIS.

After the sentencing David Harvie, Procurator Fiscal for West of Scotland, said: "Every man, woman and child has the right to live free from violence, and without fear of humiliation, harassment or abuse, based on prejudice."

Yet, despite the Crown office being informed by The Drum that the Twitter feed was still live, the offending posts were still publicly available today.

Contacted by The Drum neither The Crown Office, the Procurator Fiscal Service nor Police Scotland were willing to comment.

Twitter told The Drum that, while they could not comment in individual cases, they had clear processes for law enforcement bodies to ask for the removal of illegal content.
