The move will bring more than one million short-form videos to the platform, which launched with Channel 4 News, ITN and Scripps Networks International as UK partners earlier this spring.

AOL On generated 1.2bn monthly views this August, according to internal figures.

Other content partners include Extreme sports channel Epic TV; and Atomized, Barcroft Media, BuzzMyVideos, Cover Video, Crash.net, Engage Sports Media, Epic TV, Golfjuice.tv, Reader’s Digest UK, Royal Institution of Great Britain, Russell Grant Astrology.

AOL On will continue to bolster its original programme commissions, having announced 16 new shows, including Park Bench with actor Steve Buscemi, and James Franco’s series Making a Scene, which premiered last week, in New York this April.

It is poised to reveal another slate of shows at IAB’s Digital Upfronts on 16 October.
