High-street retailer Topshop has taken a leaf out of Burberry’s book and signed model Cara Delevingne as the face of its Autumn/Winter 2014 campaign.

The launch of the campaign, the first time that Topshop has featured a single model, coincides with the start of London Fashion Week this Friday (12 September) and will see Delevingne appear in a series of 12 images, wearing key looks from the new collection including the biker jacket, the Jamie jean and the Martha parka.

Topshop owner Arcadia Group is supporting the new collection and presence at London Fashion week with a giant 128 sq m blowUP media poster in London’s Rivington Street featuring Delevingne.

Topshop creative director Kate Phelan said: “Cara is a true Topshop girl. Her style is confident and playful and she can be sophisticated and chic as easily as she can be cool and casual. Putting her spin on everything she makes the Topshop collection her own. Her uninhibited natural energy is intoxicating, she is free spirited and fun.”

A back stage video produced by Leigh Johnson will be shown on the Topshop website and show the model on-set during the shooting of the campaign.

Previous Topshop campaigns have featured Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Lily Donaldson, Rosie Tapner and Eliza Cummings.
