Publicis Groupe acquires Turner Duckworth to align the design agency with Leo Burnett
Design and branding agency Turner Duckworth has been acquired by Publicis Groupe with plans afoot to align the business with Leo Burnett.
Founded in 1992 Turner Duckworth has designed visual identities and packaging for the likes of Coca-Cola, Oreo, Jacobs, Google, Waitrose and Metallica with a 70-strong team spread between London and San Francisco.
The deal will see Turner Duckworth retain its name and existing management structure partnering with Leo Burnett and ‘underlining the importance Leo Burnett places on the marriage of design and creative advertising’.
Bruce Duckworth and David Turner, joint CEO and CCO of Turner Duckworth said of the acquisition: “With Leo Burnett, we see eye to eye about the importance of creative excellence, the growing impact of design on the brand communications world, and the desire to have a strong design voice on a global scale.
“Most importantly, we like them as people. We have already collaborated with Leo Burnett on work for both Coca-Cola and Samsung, so we know it’s a great fit, and that clients are hungry for seamless creativity from their agencies.”
Leo Burnett chairman and CEO, Tom Bernardin, added: “This is a very important milestone for our company. It makes me very proud that men of David and Bruce’s calibre would come to our creative agency to find a home and assist in their global expansion.”
The value of the deal has not been disclosed at this time.
