Aeroflot, Russia’s leading airline has marked its one year anniversary as the official carrier of Manchester United Football Club with an augmented reality ‘pop-up’ experience at Heathrow Airport.

The pop-up was designed to inform football fans of the partnership between the club and airline and gave them the opportunity to win exclusive prizes ranging from Business Class flights and limited edition club memorabilia.

As official carrier of the club, Aeroflot has agreed to organise the travel of club officials.

Bryan Robson, Manchester United legend, hosted the VR event at the airport to meet fans, award prizes and discuss the partnership between the two brands.

He said: “It has been a real thrill meeting fans and passengers today with Aeroflot. And to mark the anniversary of Manchester United’s global partnership with the airline.

“With the club having played across the globe over the past 12 months, Aeroflot’s strategic advice on travel arrangements has been invaluable.”

Earlier this summer the Manchester side signed a £70m per year kit sponsorship agreement with Frankfurt-based Adidas - ending a lengthy relationship with Nike.
