Online auction house eBay has been hit by another technical glitch, this time affecting users in the US, UK, India and Europe with many being unable to log-in to the site.
Account holders in these countries have complained that they cannot sign in and are instead being presented with an incorrect password alert – the 11th such outage this year, the most recent of which came just two weeks ago when the platform was out of action for the better part of a day.
Blaming the latest blip on scheduled server maintenance eBay spokesman Ryan Moore told the BBC: “We're working to resolve this issue quickly and will continue to keep our customers updated. We apologise for any inconvenience to our users.”
Such down time is particularly damaging for the e-tailing giant, with many of its users relying on the service to provide them with an income.
Many users took to Twitter to share their frustrations after hitting a brick wall on log-in:
How does such a large company like @eBay have it's system go down for 3+ hours now?? I can't get into my seller's account #ebaydown#wtf
