Artist Josh Cochran is more than half way through completing a mural based on the most talked about moments of the US Open.

Created by DDB New York, the social and digital campaign aggregates social mentions through the hashtag #StoryoftheOPEN with onsite painting by Cochran taking place daily on one of New York’s busiest thoroughfares – a billboard above New York City’s Midtown Tunnel.

In addition to the live mural, DDB has also developed a bespoke digital destination hosting custom content for the mural, with user-generated content and a daily video of the mural’s creation.

A Facebook tab serves as the #StoryoftheOPEN content hub housing a live feed of Cochran painting throughout the tournament each morning. Interviews with Cochran and the user-generated content that is inspiring his work also appears within the tab.
