BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra have partnered with a host of YouTube vloggers to present a new weekly show that will be fully visualised and streamed on the Radio 1 website, in a bid to "adapt or die".

The show - the first of its kind - will see vloggers Zoella, Tyler Oakley, TomSka,Troye Sivan, ThatcherJoe, Sprinkle Of Glitter, BritPopPrincess, Marcus Butler, Caspar and Jack and Dean guest presenting each Monday between 9-10pm alongside presenters Dan and Phil.

The YouTube stars, who between them have over 27 million subscribers to their channels, will bring their unique personalities and specialisms to their one-off shows - whether that be fashion, comedy or singing.

Ben Cooper, controller at BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra said: “Traditional youth broadcasters must adapt or die. It would be short-sighted to dismiss the importance of vloggers and ignore the new breed of presenting talent that are so influential to young audiences.”

Dan and Phil will present the first Monday of every month on rotation and introduce the guest presenters each week.

Videos filmed by Radio 1 have already made it the biggest radio station in the world on YouTube and the first station to reach 1 million subscribers.

The station’s YouTube channel which currently has over 1.4 million subscribers has amassed over 350 million views, with almost 1 billion minutes (16 million hours) of content watched on the platform
