McCann London has appointed Tom Wong to the newly created position of managing partner in charge of new business development.

Having spent over four and a half years at TBWA as development director, Wong will now lead the marketing and external communications strategy for McCann London.

Acting as brand director, Wong will also hold responsibility for seeking out new revenue streams from prospective and existing clients.

Of his appointment, he said: “The talent, quality of work, creative thinking and diligence to deliver is clear from the moment you set foot in McCann; it is a culture I firmly believe in, and look forward to being part of.”

His new role sees him reunited with former TBWA colleague Zaid Al-Zaidy, who is now chief executive at McCann London.

Al-Zaidy said: “This is another great addition to our new team at McCann London. Tom is a rare breed, a great agency marketer, new business practitioner, client leader and general energizer. I can’t wait to work with him again.”

McCann clients include First Great Western Railways, Homepride, Microsoft and The Qatar Financial Centre Authority.
