BrewDog has opened its first bar south of the River Thames in Clapham Junction.

It is the craft brewer’s 17th UK bar and 22nd worldwide, having already opened bars in Camden, Shoreditch and Shepherd’s Bush with plans in the works for a second bar in Glasgow as well as Brighton and Liverpool.

Further afield, BrewDog also has plans to launch bars in Rome, Bologna, Helsinki and Berlin.

BrewDog co-founder James Watt said it had long been on the cards to give the people of south London a bar on their doorstep.

“With bars in all four corners of the capital, it means Londoners should never have to travel too far to get their hands on some great craft beer,” he said. “BrewDog Clapham Junction will be a destination bar serving the craft beer enthusiasts in the area. We’ve got a great spot, with the scenic Clapham Common just around the corner, the location couldn’t be better.”

The space was designed by interior architect firm Michaelis Boyd.

Last month BrewDog revealed its new headliner packaging.

The co-founders said that “the old labels were no longer quite right for us as a brewery”.

BrewDog also featured in the Drum's Shockemntary - a film exploring the good and bad of shock advertising.
