Rihanna trademarks surname ahead of rumoured fashion brand launch
Rihanna has trademarked her surname Fenty to use it on a range of products including clothing and cosmetics, sparking speculation that the singer may be on the verge of launching her own fashion line.
Rihanna, who has previously collaborated with River Island and MAC cosmetics, filed trademarked documents in June via her company Roraj Trade LLC for a range of brand names: Fenty Apparel, Fenty Beauty, Fenty Clothing, Fenty Cosmetics, Fenty Face, Fenty Intimates, Fenty Lingerie, Fenty Makeup, Fenty Nails, Fenty Swim, Fenty Swimwear, Boomflick, Fenty Corp, Robyn, Fenty88 and Rhi Rhi, according to the Telegraph.
Earlier this year the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) handed Rihanna the Fashion Icon Award for her “impact on the industry as fashion’s most exciting ambassador in recent memory.”
