The £3.7bn merger of Dixons Retail and Carphone Warehouse is complete as the combined entity revealed a new logo and website today, 7 August.

As shares officially started trading on the stock exchange, Sebastian James, group chief executive of Dixons Carphone said the company was “off to a flying start with the opening of the first seven combined shops” with a further 23 planned before the end of the year.

“Our offices now proudly show our new combined identity and up and down the country we are delivering a clear message to our teams and to our customers: We are one,” he said.

The company aims to guide consumers through the ‘Internet of Things’ and advise on the best devices to connect their lives at home as well as on the move.

“We’re creating an organisation for the future where the products are just the beginning. We will not only help customers to access the technology and the connectivity that is right for them, but also find the expertise and services that bring them to life - the first and best company to offer this complete end-to-end proposition.”

Shares of the newly listed company were up around two per cent in morning trading.
