AOL UK has hired Microsoft Advertising’s senior director of multinational sales, Penny Harris, as international head of revenue.

Appointment: Penny Harris

A statement from AOL said Harris will have a “particular focus on programmatic trading” in the newly created role.

She will report to Graham Moysey, head of international at AOL, who said: “As we continue to develop our programmatic offering and cement our position as a leader in the brave new world of premium automated trading, Penny will be essential to driving AOL’s revenues and vision on an international scale.”

The appointment follows AOL’s announcement in July that it was making all of its reserved inventory from owned and operated sites available on its proprietary demand side platform (DSP).

Harris added: “I am very much looking forward to joining AOL, who are at the forefront of digital advertising and whose programmatic offering is second to none.

“After 13 years with Microsoft I am ready for the next challenge and I can’t wait to help AOL grow and thrive in the ever-changing digital marketplace.”

Harris spent 13 years at Microsoft Advertising.
