Following the closure of graphic design consultancy Glad founder Dave Burdon has moved to San Francisco to join Apple as a senior art designer.

Burdon founded Glad in 2011 and over the course of three years the agency worked with clients including the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Tesco, Amazon Web Services and Fab, winning a number of industry accolades including Roses Creative awards, Scottish Design awards, Brands of the World awards and Fresh awards.

A post on Glad’s LinkedIn page attributes the closure to the team “pursuing new and exciting opportunities that include new roles in the States and London”.

The post adds that “some of the team are forming a new company that will rise like a mighty phoenix out of the ashes of Glad and carry on the good work for our clients”.

Burdon’s LinkedIn profile states that he began working with Apple this month (August).

At the time of writing The Drum was still awaiting comment from Apple.
