Controversy: Graphic from the 'Bomb Gaza' game on Google Play

The game, created by PLAYFTW - which is also the creator of 'Piano' and 'Space War - New Era - was published on 29 July amid the escalating conflict in Gaza, which has killed scores of civilians and children.

Google’s terms and conditions for Google Play content rule out anything that contains ‘violence and bullying’, saying: “Depictions of gratuitous violence are not allowed.”

The game's description says the aim is to "drop bombs on Gaza and avoid killing civilians".

Some Twitter users reacted angrily to the game. The Drum was awaiting a response from Google at time of publication.
