The British Heart Foundation has appointed three new members to its team, including Carolan Davidge as director of marketing and engagement.

Davidge will join the charity on 13 October from Cancer Research UK, where she is currently director of communications.

Joining her is Mike Hobday, who will take up the role of BHF director of policy. His current position is director of policy and research at Macmillan Cancer Support.

Catherine Kelly has been promoted to become director of prevention, survival and support.

Simon Gillespie, chief executive at the BHF said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Carolan, Mike and Catherine to our executive group and the wider BHF team at a really exciting time as we prepare to launch our ambitious new strategy.

“Today, over seven million people in the UK are living with cardiovascular disease. Carolan, Mike and Catherine will play vital roles in leading our dedicated team of staff and volunteers to win the fight against a disease that damages the lives of far too many people.

“Their leadership and experience will help power our new strategic direction and drive forward our fight for every heartbeat.”

Both Hobday and Kelly will begin their new roles on 29 September.
