Instagram to launch a “one-tap photo messaging” service - Bolt
Instagram is set to launch a new service, Bolt, which seems to be a rival to Snapchat by offering “one-tap picture messaging”.
A promotional message introducing the service appeared on the banners of Instagram for some users, but then they tried to click through to the Google Play store, it led to a dead end.
This is not the first time such an incident has happened - last month Facebook, which owns Instagram, accidentally released its new app Slightshot too early, and had to delete it from the Apple store.
It is unknown when Bolt will officially launch.
Did anyone else get this weird bolt notification on their Instagram earlier? pic.twitter.com/SBrLH7qTTK
