A quarterly magazine for the business community in the north-east of Scotland, Business Now, has been launched in a joint venture between Mackintosh Media Ltd and House of Morgan, a graphic design agency and publisher of the Grampian Wedding Directory.

Launch: Business Now

Published by the joint HOMMAC Media Ltd, 20,000 copies are available on the magazine’s first run, with the second edition set to come out in October. The title has a team of three graphic designers and six copywriters led by editor Eric Farquharson, former managing director of the Aberdeen Independent and head of commercial development for STV North.

A statement from the company said: “The aim of Business Now is to give another voice to the commercial community in the north-east, and to allow readers to keep up-to-date with what is happening currently in the business world.”

The magazine is free and the first edition carried advertising from a number of businesses local to the region. The title has a website hosting a PDF version of the magazine, although House of Morgan chief Simon Morgan told The Drum there are plans to develop the online presence further down the line.

The first issue carries an article on the impact the economy might have on the referendum debate, and editions will report on developments in sectors such as finance, oil, gas, the property market, recent appointments and upcoming business events.
