Channel 4 News is set to distribute its short form video content to Yahoo for the first time, after ITN Productions, the creative and commercial hub of ITN, secured the syndication deal.

The Channel 4 News video content will be part of the Yahoo News multimedia view of the day’s news and information across platforms. Made for online and mobile platforms, the content will include news exclusives, interviews and explainers as well as 60-second round-ups of the day’s agenda.

The content will also be used for the UK edition of Yahoo News Digest, Yahoo’s new app, which delivers a twice-a-day summary of news curated and summarised for mobile.

“We are always looking for innovative ways to bring our content to new audiences across all platforms and particularly to extend our digital reach among younger age groups,” said Ben de Pear, editor of Channel 4 News.

“Our short form video content is custom made for the web, and Yahoo with its significant user base is an ideal partner for us to deliver news to people on the go in bite sized formats.”

The Yahoo partnership follows other recent Channel 4 News distribution deals secured through ITN Productions, such as a deal with AOL, which saw it partner with ITN and Scripps Networks International to launch the AOL On video platform in the UK.
