Amidst ongoing hostilities around Gaza the Israeli military has opened up a new front in their battle to win over public opinion, taking their message directly to Londoners with a doctored image of Westminster in flames under a sky filled with Hamas-style rockets.

Echoing the V2 onslaught of WW2 the tweet was conceived by an ‘interactive media branch’ of the Israeli Defence Force and bears the slogan, ‘What Would You Do?’

In the official IDF twitter feed the post read: “Hamas terrorists just fired rockets at southern and central Israel. What if they were attacking your home?”

The post was designed to justify an ongoing ground operation against militants residing in the Gaza strip, from where some 2,000 rockets have been launched against Israel. Critics have accused the Israelis of a disproportionate response with some 500 Palestinians killed in a fortnight of fighting.
