Yahoo’s aim of becoming a premium online video provider will be boosted today upon the launch of its '365 Days of Live Concerts' – starting with the Dave Matthews band.

Four sponsors are already signed up to support the 365 days of gigs

This gig will kick off a year of daily live-streamed performances with acts like Usher, Common, the Neighbourhood, Wiz Khalifa and Ziggy Marley and Justin Timberlake signed up.

Tuesday's event will be filmed from the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Florida by Yahoo and Live Nation.

Live Nation is tasked with organising the gigs and managing the camera crews and Kellogg has signed up as the first sponsor.

The shows can be watched on the Live Nation website and via set-top televisions devices like Apple TV and Roku

Kathy Savitt, CMO of Yahoo, said: “Live moments are the most memorable - whether it’s your favourite band’s performance of a lifetime, that amazing last-second goal that crowns the world champion, or an unforgettable acceptance speech that goes viral. And in today’s on-demand entertainment environment, live experiences are the only ones that we all share together, at the same time.

“Together with Live Nation, we are excited to bring millions of fans together to share these moments through the new Yahoo Live experience.”

LiveNation produces more than 23,000 annual shows for 60m fans globally and Yahoo has 800m users globally.
