Almost half of the top 10 most shared ads of 2014 are World Cup-related, with two Nike ads making the list curated by Unruly Media.

Four of the top 10 commercials come from Fifa sponsors or brands looking to take advantage of the world’s biggest football tournament, with the “unofficial World Cup theme song” by Shakira - La La La (Brazil 2014) - and Activia taking the top spot on the list.

According to Unruly, the ad for the Danone yogurt brand is also the fourth most shared ad of all time.

It was found that the top 40 World Cup ads attracted almost three times more online shares and views than the top 40 commercials from Super Bowl 2014 – as can be seen by the fact that the Budweiser ‘Puppy love’ ad was the only Super Bowl commercial to make the top ten.
