As regular readers of The Drum will well know we love a good tactical ad here at Drum Towers and this World Cup campaign from Leerdammer is no different.
Running over the weekend in The Sun the work coincided with The Netherlands make-or-break game against Costa Rica on Saturday and dialled up the brand’s Dutch credentials.
On Saturday anticipation was built up pre-match with the first execution:
Then following the close-run match, which ended with Holland winning 4-3 on penalties, a second creative appeared on Sunday offering free cheese in celebration of the win (something we like just as much as a great tactical ad).
And with the final this Sunday (13 July) hopefully we'll be seeing some more brands jump on the World Cup bandwaggon before it's too late.
