Johnston Press chief commercial officer steps down after 5 months
Neil Jones, chief commercial officer at Johnston Press, is leaving the company after only five months in the role, with immediate effect.
The move comes months after the publisher revealed losses of £286.8m, with an advertising revenue decline of 6.4 per cent, but announced a £360m capital refinancing plan in May.
John Bills, MD for Johnston Press in South Yorkshire and Peaks, will take on Jones' duties on an interim basis until a permanent successor is appointed.
Announcing the move following two years at Johnston Press, Jones said: "I marked my second anniversary this week and have decided it's the right time to look at other opportunities after first taking some time out to spend with my family.
"As a result of the recent, successful refinancing Johnston Press is in far better shape than it was when I joined and I want to wish the company well going forward."
Jones was previously managing director at Carat.
