Smith & Williamson, the investment management and accountancy group, has promoted Nick Hodgson to the role of head of marketing for the company.

Hodgson, who joined the group in 2008 to lead the marketing and sales of the investment management division, will take up the role with immediate effect.

David Cobb, co-chief executive and head of investment management and banking noted: “This is a very important appointment for the firm. We are increasing our investment in marketing, sales and business development across the group and we are very pleased that Nick has accepted this role as head of marketing.”

Hodgson was previously a main board director at Framlington responsible for marketing, and prior to that was a director of Rothschild Asset Management which, under his leadership, launched the Five Arrows funds brand in the UK.

The promotion follows the recent retirement of Ann Monks who was with Smith & Williamson for 20 years.
