LIDA opens first international office in Australia joining forces with M&C Saatchi Sydney

M&C Saatchi Sydney has announced that direct and digital agency LIDA is to open its doors in Sydney, expanding the agency’s global offering.

Set to open in June the news marks a significant growth period for the agency with M&C Saatchi Sydney’s managing partner Christine Gardner and creative director Al Mackie to head up operations.

“The launch of LIDA will be a seminal moment for our Group, our clients and indeed the industry in Australia,” explained Jaimes Leggett, CEO, M&C Saatchi, Australia, explained. “In recent months a number of M&C Saatchi Australia’s clients have engaged LIDA’s services and the increasing demand made it a logical decision to have direct representation in Australia. LIDA will bring world-class customer engagement capabilities, specifically in the areas of data, CRM and loyalty, to this market.”

Matthew Heath, chairman and chief strategy officer, LIDA, commented: “Sydney presents a real opportunity for LIDA - the Australian market is strong and business in the city is buoyant…We intend to build on our track record by providing exceptional strategic experience in CRM, growing and bringing in new business, as well as presenting the agency with the invaluable expertise and skills of our award-winning team.”

Lisa Thomas, M&C Saatchi UK CEO, who established LIDA in 2000, added: “Having set up LIDA 14 years ago, the launch of its first international shop is testament to its growth and overall success. LIDA still remains a hugely ambitious agency with global aspirations and its Sydney office will compliment what we do in the UK.”

M&C Saatchi’s digital, data and direct business, Mark, will be folded into LIDA Australia with all Mark staff moving to the new operation.
