Ted Baker sees online sales grow by nearly half as group revenue grows by 17.9%

Ted Baker, the British lifestyle brand, has revealed an increase in group revenue of 17.9 per cent between January and June of this year, with its e-commerce business growing sales by nearly half.

The company has announced the year on year group revenue growth alongside 15.8 per cent growth in retail sales and e-commerce sales increasing by 48.1 per cent.

Wholesale sales during the 19 week period of 26 January to 7 June grew by 25.2 per cent with a strong performance in export from the US wholesale business also recorded.

Ray Kelvin CBE, Founder and CEO of Ted Baker, said that the brand “continued to perform very well” and added that it had delivered “further progress across its global markets and distribution channels.”

He continued: “We are pleased with the performance of our Spring/Summer collections both in the UK and internationally, which is testament to our skilled and passionate team. Commitment to quality, design and attention to detail underpins everything we do and we remain focussed on our strategy to further develop Ted Baker as a global lifestyle brand."

During the same period, the company opened new stores at Heathrow Terminal 2 and in Glasgow, while continuing to expand in the US with a store in Philadelphia and two new concession stores and a further outlet opening in California. Spain, Frand and the Netherlands each received a new concession store, while an outlet was opened in Paris and a department store in Tokyo.
