Flybe appoints easyJet’s Martin Smith as marketing director

Regional airline Flybe has announced the appointment of former easyJet marketing consultant Martin Smith as its new marketing director as part of an ongoing turnaround and growth plan.

Smith was appointed to the role courtesy of a wealth of experience within the sector, including development of the easyJet Plus loyalty programme and a pre-paid Visa Euro card.

These skills will be put to use in the delivery of Flybe’s own marketing strategy.

Paul Simmons, Flybe's chief commercial officer, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Martin on board. He joins us as a highly experienced marketing professional with a proven track record of delivering innovative and exciting work. His is exactly the expertise we need as we continue to revamp our customer offering as we continue on our journey to becoming Europe’s best regional airline.”

Smith added: “This is an exciting time to be joining Flybe, as the business continues to undergo transformation, growth and expansion.
