Lego has partnered with National Geographic Kids for a Young Explorers campaign, encouraging children across the UK to design a piece of equipment or a vehicle that can be used to survive in in the Polar Regions.

The campaign was launched to support the Lego City Arctic range, with brand ambassador Ben Saunders stepping in as a celebrity judge.

Saunders, who returned from a polar expedition in February, will pick a winner who will then be named as the country’s Young Explorer and receive a holiday package for four to the Polar Regions of Finland.

“It is every young boy’s dream to work with Lego,” he said. “This campaign has been an absolute dream come true! I am proud to be a part of this launch event and to bring my experiences and energy to such a worthwhile competition.”

A dedicated microsite on Lego.com has been created to host the competition.
