Annette King promoted to CEO of Ogilvy & Mather UK as Paul O’Donnell focuses on agency's EMEA growth

Annette King, currently CEO at OgilvyOne, has been named CEO of Ogilvy & Mather UK.

She succeeds Paul O’Donnell who has become CEO, Ogilvy & Mather EMEA.

Effective immediately, King has been tasked with building on the growth Ogilvy & Mather has experienced over the past five years. She will also continue to lead OgilvyOne in the EMEA region.

“I am incredibly excited to have the opportunity to run Ogilvy & Mather UK. I can't wait to start working with the teams across the Group to take the business forward, building on the enormous growth of the last five years,” said King of her new role.

She reports to O’Donnell, who also retains his role as chairman, Ogilvy & Mather UK.

He said of her appointment: “I have promoted Annette five times in her 14 years at the agency because it works. Her track record in all her previous roles speaks for itself and I’m looking forward to her broader contribution to our business in the UK.”

Commenting on his own promotion, O’Donnell said it was “a fantastic time to be moving to the regional role” with Ogilvy & Mather aiming to complete its network in Africa and the Middle East.

Both will be based in London.

Last year, The Drum spoke to King as part of its Girl Guides series where she discussed the pressures of leading OgilvyOne.
