Home appliance manufacturer AEG has today (21 May) released a documentary on YouTube which explores topics around fast fashion and wearable technology.

The Next Black, produced in conjunction with House of Radon, investigates whether the concept of clothing is on the verge of a dramatic shift, and if new technology and innovative fabrics will transform the way we produce and wear our clothes.

“The international attention that The Next Black has received so far demonstrates how important the film's topic really is. Its probably difficult for many people to imagine a revolutionary change in the way we live with and consume clothing, but ideas that are now seen as pretty extreme, like digital skin, might not be so far away. We hope to raise questions and discussions among the viewers," said Lovisa Sunnerholm from AEG, one of the producers behind the film.

The documentary features Adidas, tech-clothing giants Studio XO and Biocouture, a consultancy exploring living organisms to grow clothing and accessories.
