YouTube is set to buy the video game streaming company Twitch for over $1bn, according to reports.

Variety has claimed that YouTube will aim to make the largest acquisition in its history with the purchase of the San Francisco-based company, which allows users to watch and upload gameplay videos through connected Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4 consoles.

So far, neither company have commented on the deal.
