YouTube reportedly set to acquire Twitch in $1bn+ deal
YouTube is set to buy the video game streaming company Twitch for over $1bn, according to reports.
Variety has claimed that YouTube will aim to make the largest acquisition in its history with the purchase of the San Francisco-based company, which allows users to watch and upload gameplay videos through connected Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4 consoles.
So far, neither company have commented on the deal.
Twitch launched in June 2011 and is currently headed up by Emmett Shear, co-founder and CEO.
