Emma Derrick leaves C5 for new commercial development role at C4

Emma Derrick has joined Channel 4 to head up a new commercial development team within the digital and partnerships division.

As commercial development leader, Derrick has been tasked with delivering a coherent, creative and commercial framework which offers new opportunities to advertisers and media agencies.

She reports to Jonathan Lewis, head of digital and partnership innovation, who said: “We’re continually seeking new business models and advertising sales opportunities for our agencies and clients.

"Emma has an excellent track record in the creation of bespoke integrated partnerships and solid experience within the indie production sector – we’re looking forward to welcoming her to Channel 4 to spearhead this new framework which will deliver innovative new commercial partnerships with indies.”

The new framework has focussed on B2B commercial models, including joint ventures, digital content development and syndication, as well as product licensing, merchandising and placement, and developing talent partnerships with advertisers.

Derrick has joined from the recently sold Channel 5 where she was head of commercial partnerships.
