Just Eat has struck a deal with Derby County Football Club, replacing BuyMobiles.net to become the main shirt sponsor.

The online takeaway ordering service signed the three-year deal for an undisclosed amount, with the company’s logo set to appear on front of the club shirts starting from the beginning of the 2014/15 season.

“The deal is a reflection of the progress we have made as a Club in recent times and we’re looking forward to working closely with Just Eat in the months and years ahead,” said Derby County’s president and chief executive Sam Rush.

“There are plenty of benefits for our fans within the sponsorship agreement as well and we’re pleased to have Just Eat on board with us.”

Also included in the deal are experiential stunts during matchdays, joint activity on the club and Just Eat’s social media channels, plus sponsorship of a specific Derby County Community Trust Project.

This is the takeaway brand’s first significant venture into sports sponsorship, having announced a deal with ITV’s Take Me Out earlier this year and sponsored UKTV’s Dave for nine-months last year.

Buymobiles.net MD and founder Paul Sisson is set to remain a corporate client at the iPro Stadium, with BuyMobiles.net retaining a Proud Partner status.
