Glasgow 2014 bosses have been forced to close the ticketing website and call centre for the second time in 24 hours.

An additional 100,000 seats went on sale on the site on yesterday morning, on a first come first serve basis, but the site has since plagued with technical issues and people haven't been able to buy tickets.

Now it has decided to pull the site and shut down the call centre until it can resolve the issues, according to STV.

“From 6pm, no further customers will be able to join the website queue or access the call centre until further notice," said David Grevemberg, chief executive of Glasgow 2014.

“We want the purchase of Commonwealth Games tickets through the Ticketmaster system to be a positive experience for all customers and we realise this has not been the case for many."

More than 55,000 tickets have been sold of the remaining 100,000.
