Infographic: How Eurovision happened on Twitter

Conchita Wurst, winner of the Eurovision song contest, saw a 661 per cent increase in Twitter followers, research from SocialBro has found.

The research discovered that 43.9 per cent of Twitter users discussing the event were in the GMT time zone, with over 140,000 mentions being made to UK entry Molly Smitten-Downes.

SocialBro discovered that almost three quarters (73 per cent) of the tweets were in English.

Over five million tweets were sent on the night.
