The Sun’s head of sport, Mike Dunn, has been named group head of sport at The Evening Standard, Independent, i and London Live.

Appointment: Mike Dunn

Dunn will begin the role after the upcoming World Cup and he will be responsible for sport across all platforms.

Andrew Mullins, managing director of ESL and IPL and CEO of London Live ESTV, said: “I’m thrilled that Mike has decided to join us and lead our ambitions in sport.

“This new appointment of a multi-media head of sport is the first of a number of exciting plans we have to develop our editorial operation over the next few months.”

Dunn’s departure from the Sun after seven years as head of sport was announced in April, although he will stay with the paper throughout the World Cup.

Prior to his position there, he was sports editor at the News of the World. He spent 29 years in total at News International.
