Following a competitive pitch Burson-Marsteller is now in contract negotiations for Vodafone UK's corporate and brand communications account.

The agency will be reporting to Paddy Toyne-Sewell, Vodafone UK's head of external communications, with the brief to provide an integrated approach to corporate and consumer communications to promote Vodafone's network and services.

Toyne-Sewell said: "The Burson-Marsteller team impressed us with their quality of thinking and analysis around our corporate objectives and their creativity in coming up with campaigns which not only meet our strategic needs, but are in tune with our brand's tone of voice and aspirations. We are looking forward to working with the B-M team."

B-M will provide ongoing counsel and support as well as creating and implementing campaigns.

Ben Maynard, chair of B-M's UK technology practice, said he was "very pleased and honoured to be selected by Vodafone UK".
