Shenan Reed has been hired by MEC as president, digital, North America, replacing Susan Schiekofer who has stepped down to “pursue new opportunities within the media community.”

Reed has become responsible for driving the advancement of digital growth at the agency across the North America region, with Marla Kaplowitz, CEO of MEC North America saying that her role will be “crucial” for moving the agency into the future.

“I am confident that Shenan is poised to continue our growth trajectory in this area, enabling both our clients and agency to remain at the forefront of the rapidly evolving digital landscape while cultivating progress in exciting and new ways,” added Kaolowitz.

Reed has joined MEC from her own agency, Morpheus Media, which she launched in 2001.

In 2011, Morpheus merged with the CreateThe Group, with Shenan continuing on as chief media officer before leaving to join MEC.

“I have always admired the breadth and depth of MEC’s work, as well as the agency’s unique people-centric culture,” she said. “This is a phenomenal opportunity to apply my knowledge and experience to drive genuine integration across MEC’s impressive portfolio of clients.”

Shenan’s appointment is effective 12 May.
