Penicuik strikes deal with STV to sponsor key tea time slots

Penicuik has struck a sponsorship deal with Scottish broadcaster STV for its ‘Tea Time on STV’ slot.

The weekday slot currently features quiz show The Chase, and from August Penicuik will also sponsor a “Family Moments” entertainment slot an hour prior to the X-Factor on Saturday nights.

The home efficiency brand worked with STV Creative to create segments featuring the strapline “Tea Times with STV and Penicuik Energy Saving Windows” to help push the company’s renewed sales strategy of focusing on energy efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Ann Gibb, marketing director of Penicuik, said: “For some time we’ve been seeking the right opportunity for Penicuik, working to deliver longevity and frequency to target audiences. This is a significant investment.

“We want to demonstrate the savings impact that our products provide, by using the most energy efficient products in the market place, and at the same time show some of the personality and humour which has made Penicuik such a trusted brand.”

Gibb added that the move as part of an ongoing strategy which included a partnership with Edinburgh Zoo, where it sponsors the Penguin Parade.
