Nokia global head of channel advertising joins Amobee as the company boosts EMEA region with two senior appointments

Former Nokia global head of channel advertising David Barker had joined Amobee as senior vice president and managing director for EMEA advertising solutions.

Barker, who during his time at Nokia also held the role of director of interactive advertising, is tasked with expanding Amobee’s customer based across Europe and EMEA with particular significance placed on the company’s new expansion into Germany and will be based out of Amobee’s London office.

He brings with him experience of building and growing successful companies in Europe and is charged with expanding Amobee’s customer base across the continent. Barker joining Nokia via the Enpocket acquisition, where he was European MD, he has also held a number of board positions at leading advertising industry associations.

Joining Barker at Amobee is David Long, who has been appointed as vice president of commercial EMEA, briefed to handle business development and customer acquisitions of a number of Amobee products. His employment history includes times spend as a partner at CE Captial and CEO at Skinkers.

Mark Strecker, president and COO, of Amobee, remarked: “There are no better industry experts than David Barker and David Long to lead Amobee in the next phase of growth and our expansion in Europe and the Middle East.”

Barker said that he had been “offered the chance to join a number of mobile businesses” but Amobee presented the biggest growth opportunity. He commented: “Amobee is now looking to increase its revenue with new products. With the expansion into Germany we will continued to hire, and we are confident of our growing DACH region customer base.”

Long added that he was “excited to join Amobee's leading EMEA team to enable brands to deliver the most innovative digital ad campaigns.”

Both appointments are effective immediately with Barker and Long both working from Amobee’s London office.
