A G Barr has confirmed that it will be airing three of its ‘Irn-Bru Gets You Through’ series in the north of England as part of a £5m investment in the brand.

Running during May and June the three adverts – ‘Baby’, ‘Steamy Windows’ and ‘New Fella’ – take a tongue-in-cheek look at how the soft drink can help ease the pain of difficult situations.

“The ‘Gets You Through’ TV adverts really strike a chord with consumers,” says Adrian Troy, fead of marketing for A G Barr. “The adverts reflect the cheeky, maverick attitude for which Irn-Bru is well-loved and reinforce the message that whatever life throws at you, Irn-Bru ‘Gets You Through’.”

Dedicated POS and an extensive social media campaign will support the TV ads in the region which has seen Irn-Bru sales grown by 75 per cent in the last five years.

Troy adds: “The Irn-Bru Gets You Through campaign forms part of A G Barr’s biggest ever multi-brand marketing programme to enhance its role as Proud Supporter of The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.”

Irn-Bru has also revealed that it has renewed its sponsorship of Rugby Super League for the 2014 season which runs until October.
