The Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) and NUJ have reached an agreement to work together on a range of issues facing the industry.

Key areas identified include lobbying regulation, ethical public relations and increasing diversity in the industry.

Michelle Stanistreet, NUJ general secretary, said: "We are delighted to build on the links between the NUJ and the PRCA. As the trade union representing workers in the industry we want to make the most of opportunities to work with others who are involved with the public relations industry where we can.

“The PRCA has done excellent work highlighting the need to make public relations more reflective of the population it serves and we know this is an area of common ground."

As part of the agreement, NUJ members will be offered a promotional rate for PRCA membership.
