Oriflame Cosmetics has engaged brand design agency ButterflyCannon to redesign the branding and packaging for its expert hair care range, Hair X.

Originally briefed to inject new life into the Hair X brand and draw attention to the product, ButterflyCannon sought to create a pack relevant to today’s hair care routines, with straightforward and trustworthy communications underlined by an air of luxury.

Oriflame Hair Care global brand manager, Lucie Simsova, said of the new look: “We’re really pleased with the new design for the HairX range, ButterflyCannon, have captured the true essence of the brand and have achieved an excellent balance between our scientific and caring credentials.”

Jon Davies, creative director at ButterflyCannon, added: “The new design beings modernity and a ‘salon-esque’ feel with its bold typographic execution and use of premium coloured foils on the labels.”

Having been reformulated the redesign had to communicate the benefits of new active ingredient 6-Gingerol, which offers anti-oxidant, soothing and purifying benefits. In order to do so, ButterflyCannon developed a 6-Gingerol icon which features on pack as well as the brand’s wider communication collateral.
