FirstGroup promotes Nectar team up with multi-platform promotion

Nectar has teamed up with FirstGroup in a deal that will see those travelling by train able to receive points by buying their tickets online.

Two Nectar points will be awarded for every £1 spent when buying train tickets online through FirstGroup’s rail websites, while 50 points will be given for buying a weekly ticket, and 2,500 for an annual season ticket.

Print adverts will run in the Metro between 17 and 24 April to target daily commuters, alongside a national radio promotion.

Vernon Barker, FirstGroup’s UK rail managing director, said: “Around a quarter of UK rail passengers make train journeys with FirstGroup each year. With this fantastic and ground-breaking partnership with Nectar, we are now able to reward our loyal customers by giving them something extra when they book their tickets online. We know how valuable Nectar points are to the people and communities we serve and we are delighted to be Nectar’s first ever UK rail operator partner.”

A bonus points promotion to mark the new partnership’s launch will run from 14 April to 27 April.
